The special election to replace Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat is still over a week away, but one thing is for sure: Massachusetts voters are not about to obediently elect a Democrat for the sake of electing a Democrat. Republican Scott Brown has boots on the ground, impressive fundraising, and the underdog’s zeal. If State Attorney General Martha Coakley wants to win this race, she will have to fight for it – riding on Kennedy’s sordid coat tails simply will not cut it.
