I'm not a Democrat, and I didn't revere the Liberal Lion of Chappaquiddick.

That liberal lion, in a purely partisan move, stripped the Republican Govenor of massachusetts of his then ability to appoint a Senator should John Kerry (of Vietnam) become President (of which the Lord Spared Us!).

On His death bed, and in order to promote Nationalised health care and the Democratic Majority in the Senate, asked that his former Bill be overwritten and the PEOPLE BE STRIPPED OF THEIR RIGHTS HE GRANTED. IE- Moving the Goal Posts Again.

I thank God the Liberal Lion of Chappaquiddick is now gone and has to answer his maker. One would hope things would get less partizan after his passing, but since we were asked to pass Health Care Reform in Kennedies name, I have very little hopes.

I tentatively agree with your argument - tentatively only because I don't have all the facts regarding the situation especially in regard to deception.

Of interest:
"Our Constitution, otherwise known as the law, explicitly outlines that the most important government representatives (i.e. Senators, Congressional Representatives, Presidents, etc.) are elected by the people themselves (don’t quibble about the Electoral College, please), not by people elected by the people."

It's salient that the framers of the Constitution had a deep fear and distrust of the common citizen. An example from the U.S. Constitution:

Article I, section 3, "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, chosen by the legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote."

By direct decree of the U.S. Constitution senators were, in fact, elected by people who were elected by the 'people.' The framers believed that senators elected by state legislatures would be able to concentrate on the business at hand without pressure from the populace.

Of course the 17th amendment, originally a Populist idea, came and changed all that...

You say you're a Democrat albeit a conservative one, but are you really a Democrat?

...btw I'm not a Democrat.
